Finally, it’s here! Made with love by Beatrice Daniele and all the way from Italy, my leather cuff bracelet took almost 2 months to get, from production to delivery. Talk about slow fashion. Beatrice reached out to me and offered me this stunning leather cuff to get my open and honest review of her handmade work. She is running a Kickstarter campaign for her business and would appreciate any support she can get to make her dreams come to reality. Because I love to support women’s businesses and exceptional talent, this was a no-brainer!
Beatrice is a 27-year-old fashion designer with a diploma from the International Institute Polimoda of Florence. Before starting BD, she worked for an Italian luxury brand in the leather goods department. She founded BD in 2016 after attending a 3D design course at the Alta Scuola di Pelletteria Italiana in Florence. She combined her passions of leather and jewelry making to create her business, Beatrice Daniele.
The leather on this cuff is from stingrays and comes in about 12 colours. Beatrice sources scrap leather from sustainable sources to make her cuffs. She also guarantees that the stingrays used for this leather are not on the endangered species list.
I admire Beatrice’s talent, her commitment to keeping her products sustainable and that she is running her business responsibly. We could all learn a few things from her.
As far as trends are concerned, this leather cuff could not have come at a better time. These bracelets are hot hot hot! I look forward to styling it with my outfits this spring and summer.
I know it would mean the world to Beatrice if she could get some Canadian support to help her launch her business. If you have a moment, I’d encourage you to check out her Kickstarter campaign to learn more about her products and her vision.
