We went glamping for the first time at Elements Luxury Tented Camp in Renfrew and loved it

Last Friday, Michael and I had the pleasure of staying at Elements Luxury Tented Camp, near Renfrew. This all-inclusive outdoor hotel is located about 1 hour and 15 minutes outside Ottawa and has been running for over two years now. It’s been on my bucket list for a while, and this year I decided to bite the bullet and book it for my (early) birthday. We stayed one night, but I would recommend splurging for the entire weekend. There are so many activities like yoga and paddleboarding that we did not have a chance to indulge in. We did eat though, A LOT!

I wasn’t technically working, but I did take some pretty awesome pictures with my new lens, and I had to share them with you!

First, upon check-in (which is at 3 p.m. by the way) we were greeted by some lovely butlers, who brought us directly to our tent. We stayed at “Nature’s Reflection” the most secluded tent on the property, it’s also closest to the lookout (you’ll see pics if you keep scrolling in the post!).

There were fresh herbs planted near the tent. This was chocolate mint.

A pretty dragon fly hanging out on our tent.

My jaw dropped when I walked into the tent… KING SIZE BED with crisp white sheets! We have a queen at home, so needless to say, we had a very restful sleep. The evenings in September can get quite cool, but luckily the team had extra warming bags and blankets for us. We slept like babies.

Eclectic decor in the tent, really made this place feel like home.

Upon arriving in our tent, we were greeted with a cheese platter and chocolates. We quickly marked up our dinner orders and patiently waited for its arrival.

Probably my favourite detail was the record player in our tent. We asked for jazz and got these awesome records delivered to us. Michael and I bonded over jazz when we first met, so this really brought back some fun memories. I joked about slow dancing in the tent… Michael rolled his eyes at me! hahah

Here’s a quick tour of our outdoor bathroom. It’s directly adjacent to the tent, with easy access. It has a well-water faucet and dry toilet. My favourite thing was the natural beauty products and soap that were supplied in the room.

This is me fussing around with my camera, while Michael was making the fire to cook our dinner on.

When you check-in, you get a radio that is used to communicate with the front desk. They were extremely responsive and super speedy with our requests.

While we waited for our dinner, Michael and I tagged-teamed and built a pretty stellar fire! Actually, it was all him. I just had the idea of using paper towel as the starter! The butlers were very impressed with our handiwork, as they typically do it themselves.

Dinner arrived raw, and it was our turn to cook it over the fire!

Michael ordered the veggie burger and I got the HUGE steak with potatoes… we shared it all obviously!

For dessert, we got bunt cake and the S’mores platter. Those homemade marshmallows are a game changer; they melt beautifully on the fire.

The next morning, we went for a little hike before breakfast arrived and found the stairs to the lookout.

I tried getting that famous #FollowMeTo picture from Instagram.. you know the one where the girl is in front and reaching for her boyfriends had in the back. Michael, again, rolled his eyes.

The breathtaking view of the Ottawa Valley from the top of the mountain!

Playing with some light here; I never realized that sunrise has such great lighting.

After the hike, we opted for a healthy and lighter breakfast, although there were some pretty tempting options on the menu.

After check-out at 11 a.m., we spent the afternoon in Renfrew and had lunch at Bonnechere Bakery, a local cafe that also supplies bread and sweets at Elements. We also walked through the NHA NHL Birthplace Museum and bought a few things at a few local shops. All in all, a great little staycation.
