Proutfit: Pale Pink & Black

I went on a little shopping spree this week and bought a few key items for my work wardrobe. Between being pregnant, being on mat leave and having a home business, there wasn’t much need to buy work clothes. Now that I have entered the corporate world again, I noticed my closet was getting tired and called for a more mature look.

Today’s “proutfit” is a new pale dusty pink accordion skirt from Joe Fresh and a black turtleneck (mine is a basic H&M top from a few years back). I’m wearing thick black nylons and paired it with my basic black Franco Sarto pumps (that I leave at work). Again, I recycled my bib necklace (Expressions by The Bay) because I like it so much šŸ™‚

Proutfit: Black & Winter White

I went shopping last night in search for a wool winter white skirt… no such luck. I was told that in wasn’t the right season. I highly doubt that these women know anything about fashion let alone style. But that my friend’s is another conversation.

I did manage to find an “out of season” white skirt at Melanie Lyne and I picked up my favourite Jones New York blouse at the Bay. I also found a gorgeous gold bib necklace at the Bay, also on sale! Score for me!

Here are a few terrible pictures of my proutfit!

H&M plus sizes… You’re welcome

Yes, ladies and gentlemen, H&M is not only available in Ottawa, but the Oh-so-sad Place d’Orleans carries a wide range of collections including the coveted Plus sizes!

I’ve been shopping H&M for over 11 years now, during my frequent visits to Toronto to see the family. I used to get away with finding plenty of size 16, until they recently pulled it off their shelves. I. Died.

What am I supposed to wear now? Where can I find cute, affordable, fashion forward clothes? Well, thankfully I found Forever 21+ in the meantime, which has an edgier feel, but that is neither here, no there.

All this to say, get your butt to H&M in Orleans and find yourself a sweet outfit that makes you feel good. Warning: not much selection… Sadly šŸ™

I find that since they removed size 16, now size 14 is very hard to find. It’s like.. “Just make more people!!”. Take all the leftover size 4 and 6 and make a decent piece of clothing for us XLusive girls!

Hope you enjoyed my XLusive secret for today! Please share this with other gals and don’t forget to “like” my Facebook page!

The Woes of a Fashion Chameleon

Yes, I said it. I am a Fashion Chameleon and I am not ashamed to admit it. I just love everything and anything. I am this way with all facets of my life. From music, to my choice inĀ friends or food… anything pretty much goes. Sometimes I get overwhelmed. I mean there is a shoe for everything, a boot for everything, a heel for everything, a purse and a coat too. Ipso Facto, I have A LOT OF STUFF!!! It’s a disgusting diseases, but what can I do?

Here are a few “looks” that you will see me in from time to time.
At work:

  • Corporate power suit business lady
  • Fun flirty and thirty
  • Classic preppy

At home:

  • Basic B%@&*!’ing it out with tights and a long sweater
  • Bum on the street with ugly t-shirt and pajama pants

Out and about:

  • Rocking hardĀ in black head-to-toeĀ complete with leather trimmings
  • Hipster casual mom in ripped jeans, infinity scarf and Aztec sweater

At an event:

  • On-trend fashion statement hyperallert mode in a skirt, heels and a fabulous clutch
  • Fancy dress wearing, curled hair blowing, red lipstick rocking, black liner and fabulous brows

At the gym:

  • I look digusting. This is where I will NOT try to look pretty. You will see me with my frizzy hair in a high bun. Red sweaty face in knee length biking shorts and an oversized workout top. No makeup and long underarm hair (ready to be waxed!). This is the one place in life thatĀ I don’t care what I look like.

My one saving graceĀ to manage all these looksĀ is that I opt for quality vs. quantity. I invest in pieces like jackets, shoes, purses and jewellery instead. Tops and pants get a lot of wear, so they can easily be replaced. Black jeans are black jeans as far as I am concerned, as long as they look good and fit well. Especially when your an “XLusive member”, you have to stick with what works for your body type. (XLusive SECRET- My go to jeans are GAP Outlet skinny jeans… more on that later!)

HopeĀ this post made you laugh… I know I did.
