PR Event: Ca Va De Soi- Luxury Knitwear

I was invited by Alyssa Beltempo, fellow Ottawa stylist, to attend a Fall Fashion presentation at Ca Va De Soi (Ottawa), a luxury knitwear boutique based out of Montreal, Canada. First, I want to point out that I was floored when I learnt that this is a family owned business based out of Montreal. I have to give credit to Montreal brands that hold the fashion fort for Canada. Un gros merci! (#supportCanadian)

The great news is that warmth is in, especially in Canada. Cashmere, Merino Wool, it’s all good, all year round. Ca Va De Soi takes great pride in offering blends and fabrics that are suitable for warmth, breathability, and wearability, all without compromising style. The classic cardigan, the versatile turtle neck, the oversized vest, we all need these staples in our wardrobe. You’re thinking “ok fine, but what about price?”. These gorgeous fabrics do come at a higher price, but these are classic investment pieces worth every dollar. They will last much longer than a cheap acrylic sweater. Because they are made of high quality knit, they come with excellent care instructions to make them last even longer. Not to mention, a good cashmere sweater is the softest coziest feeling against your skin.

Here are some lovely photos I took of the evening. Stay cozy my friends and do visit Ca Va De Soi if you are in the Byward Market.

Florals and chambray

The mornings are getting cooler and I am craving my long sleeve shirts that were put away all summer.
It’s hard to believe that summer is officially coming to a close. But like every girl knows, a change in season means a change of clothes! I am both nervous and excited to finally get my fall wardrobe in gear. My recent weight loss and fitness journey has caused somewhat of a closet dilemma. Do I buy more clothes or get them tailored? #firstworldproblems #iambroke #toomuchclothes
Never the less, the days are getting shorter and our sleeves are getting longer.

This leads perfectly into a fashion segue, the chambray shirt. This lovely denim blouse officially made its appearance in the winter of 2014 and I hope it’s here to stay. Like its counterpart, the denim jacket, a chambray shirt can easily dress up a pair of slacks or dress down a fabulously feminine skirt. That beautiful balance of comfortable and classy with a touch of structure. I have a shirt in every shade!

Ottawa Street Style: Pink and Print

I’m wearing this dress to work today, and I always feel so vibrant in it! Loads of colour to distract those unflattering nooks and peaks. The side panels really give a nice hourglass illusion, which will work on any body type. I love wearing white and bright colours, but in this case the navy panels really tone down the dress making it wearable and work appropriate. The fabric is also light and stretchy, which makes it curvy girl approved!

Ottawa Street Style: Business Cool

It’s getting chilly out there, and although I hate to admit it… Summer is coming to an end faster than we can say “hell no!”

I love this comfy transition look, perfect for fall or even spring. The light weight cotton parachute pants (forever 21+), the striped blazer (Marshalls) and a pop of colour in my yellow pumps, reminds us that the sun is still around.

A nude tone leather bag (mine is a Marc Jacobs purchased on Valamode.com) is also a versatile and classic accessory every girl needs to compete her look.

Wear this look to work, or pull it off for a dinner date with the gals. You are sure to remain warm, comfortable, relaxed and on point for your next occasion.
