I don’t know about you, but I love a good secret. So today, I am sharing a fun post, featuring my fellow Ottawa bloggers! I asked them to share a little secret and make a confession! Let’s see what they had to say…

“Every time I travel, I treat myself to a designer splurge purchase that I usually budget for. I bought a limited edition Hermès scarf at Harrod’s after having too much champagne at lunch that was a total impulse buy. I’m too ashamed to say how much it cost. I was overcome with guilt, especially after my husband gave me the stink eye for the rest of the afternoon that I returned it about an hour later. I am a true shopaholic. I have taken over 2.5 closets in my house and have 2 chest of drawers literally bursting at the seams. I am never satisfied with the amount of clothes, bags and shoes I own and I simply want more of everything! I am an emotional shopper. Lately, I have been on a rampage, and it needs to stop. I will definitely consider this for my 2016 New Years Resolution (coming soon!). But most of all, I am tired. I am tired of looking for room to stash all my stuff!

PR Event: Shepherd’s Fashion Show with Lynn Spence

Shepherd’s Fashion in Ottawa was hosting their Fall Fashion Week, and I attended their event on Friday, October 2. WOW! A combination of food, decor, fashion and gorgeous women looking their best. I love that about interior designers, they pay attention to detail in all facets of their life, not just interior design. They always look amazing and have great clothes! BONUS!

So naturally, I gravitated to this lovely giant tier tray adorned with champagne flutes. Yup, I love champagne. I also love that this store has a catwalk built into it!! How smart is that?! Gorgeous models strutted their fall looks down the curvy lane, while women shopped until they dropped!

The particularly fascinating component of this event was meeting the interior designers who decorated the newly expanded VIP dressing rooms at the Train yards location. What a wonderful concept! I wish I could have caught some better shots of the rooms, but i don’t have the right lens, and I am an amateur photographer! You will have to go see it for yourselves!

And last, but not least, I met Lynn Spence, noted Canadian Stylist on Cityline from Toronto. If you grew up in Toronto, like me, Fashion experts like Lynn and Jeanne Beker are part of your family, they are your teachers, your mentors. Everything we know about Canadian Fashion is because of these women.

Octobrrr: Black Eloquii Capelet

Happy Octobrrr first! Man it’s cold outside today.
I have to admit that I am still getting used to dressing for the cold. I heard a guy on the radio the other day who said it best “It’s fall in the morning, summer at lunch and winter at night”. I couldn’t have said it better myself!

On a side note, I beat my record and ran 5KM at lunch today! (Yay me!)

So to kick off the first day of October, I am delighted to start sharing my Fall fashion trends for 2015 with you! I am looking forward to sharing more too, so please stick around and tell your friends.

First stop, this black Eloquii capelet. So gorgeous. I feel like a superhero business lady who is ready to take on the meeting and nail it! Boy am I glad I bought it as soon as they sent the email blast, because it sold out instantaneously. I love the thick, breathable and stretchy fabric. It’s so well made, I am definitely ordering from Eloquii again. And although I had to pay shipping, it’s still nice to know that Canadians can get some high end and fashionable curvy clothes online. On a side note, I found this similar Trixxi Plus Size Cape Sheath Dress, which is the bomb also, and on sale!

My look today was very Parisian, oui merci! Stripe shirt, black loafers, cigaret pants and blazer. I threw on my leopard scarf for a bit of extra warmth this morning too. My funky Quay sunnies from Simons, some bright red lipstick (Laura Mercier) from Nordstrom, and my Marsala Danier bag complete this look, if I do say so myself.

Florals and chambray

The mornings are getting cooler and I am craving my long sleeve shirts that were put away all summer.
It’s hard to believe that summer is officially coming to a close. But like every girl knows, a change in season means a change of clothes! I am both nervous and excited to finally get my fall wardrobe in gear. My recent weight loss and fitness journey has caused somewhat of a closet dilemma. Do I buy more clothes or get them tailored? #firstworldproblems #iambroke #toomuchclothes
Never the less, the days are getting shorter and our sleeves are getting longer.

This leads perfectly into a fashion segue, the chambray shirt. This lovely denim blouse officially made its appearance in the winter of 2014 and I hope it’s here to stay. Like its counterpart, the denim jacket, a chambray shirt can easily dress up a pair of slacks or dress down a fabulously feminine skirt. That beautiful balance of comfortable and classy with a touch of structure. I have a shirt in every shade!
