#OttawaStyle Update: New shops and designer stores in Ottawa

It’s no surprise that the Ottawa Fashion scene is experiencing a renaissance like no other. Almost every mall is under construction with major renovations ahead. There is no need to cross the border; the US or Quebec’s for that matter. Ottawa shopping has changed, and so should your routine!

I pulled together a handful of new shops that have opened up, and some that will soon!

New stores in Ottawa to visit

  • Designer Shoe Warehouse (DSW) in Trainyards. The one-destination for all your shoe shopping needs.
  • Fifth Avenue OFF FIFTH at Tanger Outlets. A mini department store offering a mix of contemporary and high end brands… but at a fraction of the price!
  • Hudson’s Bay next to the Rideau centre has done a massive overhaul. They have recently opened Ottawa’s first Topshop and Topman. This #LONDSTYLE inspired brand provides a nice variety of trendy pieces at a mid price range.

Coming soon

  • Simons will be opening their second store in the area, inside Rideau Centre sometime this summer (August 2016)
  • Ted Baker London in the Rideau Centre

Holiday Gifts for the Girl who has Everything

On Friday I presented “Holiday  Gifts for the Girl who has Everything” on CTV Morning Live (Ottawa).
Basically, I put together my entire Christmas wish list and shared it on national television (Ha!).

Themes included:

  1. Luxury traveling
  2. Apres Ski
  3. Mademoiselle
  4. Edgy

I pulled everything from Fashion United, Ottawa’s premier fashion boutique! I love going there! They have an amazing selection of shoes, bags, clothes and accessories. They carry high-end brands like Marc Jacobs, Rebecca Minkoff, Kate Spade, Longchamp, Marccain and Michael Kors. This is quite rare in Ottawa, which is why this boutique really excites me.

Check out the segment and let me know what you think! I’m happy to give you any ideas. Don’t be shy and ask me your questions in the comments below!

Ottawa Street Style: Black and yellow

Every lady needs an LDB (a.k.a little black dress)!

It’s classic, versatile and flattering. I found this little gem and I absolutely love the way the full skirt gives an illusion of an hourglass waist. I adore the pockets too. I just wish the fabric around my waist was thicker, to make me look more svelte… you know what I mean?
I love combining this dark dress with a fun pop of yellow and subtle red, white and blue details of my wedges. This whole ensemble is great for a date or going out with the girls after work. Swap your work cardigan for a denim jacket and you have yourself a styled LBD for your next GNO (a.k.a. Girls night out!).

In these pictures, I am wearing:

This was part of a series of photos that I did with Kristy Chapman Photography. Enjoy!
