My first official press tour has sadly come to an end. And what a whirlwind it was. My friend and fellow Ottawa influencer, Katie Hession from Yow City Style, joined me for a road trip to Toronto for the weekend. I drove us in a brand new 2017 Ford Escape, courtesy of Ford Canada. We had a hectic agenda and truly made the best of our time there, sans our family! It’s quite refreshing to travel with someone that has the same interests and goals: do, eat and see all the things in Toronto! No need to deal with kiddies or hangry husbands who want to eat before we have had a chance to photograph our food. I know most of you were following our Instagram stories, and I have to say it was nice staying in touch with Ottawa while we were in Toronto. Hopefully we made you proud, and you were able to enjoy it as much as we did!
A few weeks ago I was approached by Preloved Toronto, a popular clothing store and staple in Canadian fashion known to reclaim vintage fabrics. For most, they are known as an institution for sustainable fashion who are responsible for breathing new life into over a million pieces of clothing since 1995. This Toronto girl could not say no to this collab for many reasons. One, obviously I am going back to my roots and supporting my old hood. Two, I love vintage and consignment pieces, so this was a no-brainer. Third, Sporting Life Ottawa will now be carrying the Preloved brand, and I could not miss the opportunity to share this news with you guys! Oh, and I guess the fourth reason to be super excited is that their clothes come in size XL- so, you’re welcome!
I was very excited to be invited to the PR event held by Rudsak to launch their new store in Carrefour Laval in North Montreal on September 9, 2015. Rudsak is a Canadian brand of luxury leather goods, launched by creative visionary Evik Asatoorian in 1994.
I dragged my sister for the 2 hour car ride from Ottawa and spent a lovely 24 hrs in Montreal (more on that later!).
Rudsak partnered with Emily Haines of Metric. Emily customized four leather jackets that were raffled off at all new Rudsak store openings across Canada: Carrefour Laval (Montreal), St-Catherine store (Montreal), Eaton Centre (Toronto) and Market mall (Calgary). You can follow the campaign under #RockRudsak on Twitter and Instagram.
