Product Review: Joico K-Pak Color Therapy and Moisture Co+Wash Whipped Conditioner

The lighter my hair gets, the more I am in love with it. But as any blonde girl knows, lightning your hair can take a toll on your locks, even if you use the most gentle and high quality hair colouring products.

The timing could not have been better when I received some Joico hair care products to review, labelled MOISTURE on both bottles.  With the cold weather coming in, I am finding my hair more dry than ever. I received Joico’s Moisture Co+Wash Whipped Cleansing Conditioner and K-Pak Color Therapy Luster Lock and Instant Shine & Repair Treatment.

JOICO MOISTURE CO+WASH WHIPPED CLEANSING CONDITIONER

This mousse smells terrific and is super moisturizing! Wash your hair with shampoo first, then pump a small amount in your palm. I have way too much in my hand in this pic, you only need half the amount because as you see in the next pic, the mousse gets foamier and expands.

Place foam on your wet hair and leave it in for 5 minutes (i.e. shave one leg), then rinse. Don’t forget to shave the other leg! hahaha

Verdict

This stuff smalls great! I don’t think this product was strong enough for my hair, it needs more moisture! I will have to try it again with a different shampoo because I used my purple shampoo, which dries my hair out even more. I’ll get back to you on  this. The bottle recommends this for curly hair, so next time I will curl my hair instead of air drying it.

Use this treatment like you would any conditioner. Place on clean wet hair, and leave in for 5 minutes. Again, shave your legs in between to pass the time in the shower! Rinse and style as usual. I would keep this stuff away from your roots. It’s very moisturizing and would weigh down your hair.

Verdict

Now this treatment cream was made for me! I could tell right away when my hair was air drying that my hair was softer and more shiny than usual. It also smells like heaven. You don’t need very much either, so this tube will last me for ever! I can’t wait to use it again 🙂

Jalouse de mes lunettes? These Dior and Caroline Abram sunglasses can be yours

Aren’t they lovely (insert heart eye emoji). What I meant to say what that they can be yours at a fraction of the cost if you join me and my friends at Merivale Optometric on October 27 from 4-8 pm.

Les Parisiens Ladies Night is this year’s theme, hosted by owner and head Optometrist Dr. Joelle Zagury. She will be featuring Dior and Caroline Abrams sunglasses/prescription eyewear, and will be making a donation with each purchase to Canadian Guide Dogs for the Blind.

Zagury, who is no stranger to fashion and known to be a trend setter in the city, is a brilliant business woman (#girlboss) who has managed to slay the eyewear industry in Ottawa, by running a quaint, yet fully stocked shop in the heart of the busy Merivale Rd strip (just across the street from Nicastro’s.. that’s the secret I bet!). Merivale Optometric houses the best of the best when in comes to fashion eyewear and includes top brands like Jimmy Choo, Ray Ban, Marc by Marc Jacobs, Gucci, Kate Spade and Burberry to name a few.

If you’ve been wanting a new pair of sunnies or need a new pair of glasses, please come by on October 27 and just have a peek, I promise you won’t be disappointed.

Nailing your Paris Fashion Week street style look with local Ottawa boutiques

Paris Fashion Week just wrapped up and has left me reminiscing on my one-and-only Euro trip. Almost 8 years ago, my husband and I spent one week in Paris over New Years and had a wonderful time freezing our buns off touring the streets and indulging to our hearts content! He even proposed to me on New Years eve in a dingy bar with a mock ring, where I immediately told him to get off the dirty floor and was revolted by the ring he picked out… hahaha. One thing I will never forget is accidentally going to noted fashion photographer, Patrick Demarchelier’s photography exhibit in the Petit Palais. Oh yes, I also remember being super flattered when folks assumed I was a local (nailed it! all black everything is always a safe look in Paris!)

This post is not so much about visiting Paris or how to be Parisian, but mostly about how to nail your Paris Fashion Week street style look, while supporting local businesses in Ottawa!

This pic tho… my sis nailed it with her iphone 6!

Outfit details

Is anyone else super confused about this warm fall weather we’ve been having? I bought this Flippa K dress at Viens Avec Moi this summer and ironically it hasn’t been cool enough for me to wear it! My purse is a consignment treasure from AMH Style. My necklace is from Canadian designer Biko, purchased at  Vincent. My Dior glasses are borrowed from Merivale Optometric. My bracelet is from Ottawa designer Jenny Bird from Magpie Jewellery, and new symphony booties were gifted from Geox Rideau Centre! If you do the math, that’s 5 out of 6 local item ratio, or 83% local.
