One hundred and ten exhibitors means 110 different cities, towns and villages across Ontario and Quebec where professional vintage sleuths follow the trail of hidden vintage treasures. The fruits of their labour will be on display (and up for grabs) at Ottawa’s biggest antique and vintage events – the Ottawa Antique & Vintage Market (October 20th, 10am-5pm and October 21st, 10am-4pm) and the Ottawa Vintage Clothing Show (Sun. November 4th, 10am-5pm) – both held at Carleton University’s Fieldhouse (Bronson Ave. and Sunnyside Ave).
Antique fans can browse through stalls on the 40,000 sq./ft show floor at the Ottawa Antique & Vintage Market where they’ll find everything from hand-picked Bohemian and Industrial style furnishings to vintage farmhouse home-wares to classic cottage and lodge furniture. For those who want to add some glamour to the upcoming holiday season, a huge selection of Sherman jewelry, known for it’s hundred thousand watt glitter, will be available.
Show Manager Catherine Knoll says the show keeps getting more popular every year because “people just know that it’s a pretty rare opportunity to check out seventy truckloads of vintage, antique and retro items close to downtown Ottawa. The show offers literally tens of thousands of items to folks who prefer authentic to ersatz”.
