Let’s set the record straight, before anyone gets their tail in a tizzy… Parc Omega is NOT A ZOO! It’s a natural museum, where wild animals live in their natural habitat and get to interact with humans in an ethical and civilized way… a magical experience for both humans and animals. This weekend, my family and I received a private tour of the park with Park Director and spokesperson, Uncle Serge. After the tour and exploring the park for the entire day, we stayed overnight in one of their brand new log cabins, a new addition to their suite of rustic accommodations. Thank you to Park Omega for the lovely hospitality.
5 Things I learnt at Experience Mexico in Ottawa on Cinqo de Mayo
Last weekend, I partnered with the Mexican Tourism Board to immerse myself in “Experience Mexico” in Ottawa, a cultural and celebratory event held in honour of Canada’s 150th anniversary.
Escaping in Style: Fashion Art Toronto, Food and Fun with Ford Canada
My first official press tour has sadly come to an end. And what a whirlwind it was. My friend and fellow Ottawa influencer, Katie Hession from Yow City Style, joined me for a road trip to Toronto for the weekend. I drove us in a brand new 2017 Ford Escape, courtesy of Ford Canada. We had a hectic agenda and truly made the best of our time there, sans our family! It’s quite refreshing to travel with someone that has the same interests and goals: do, eat and see all the things in Toronto! No need to deal with kiddies or hangry husbands who want to eat before we have had a chance to photograph our food. I know most of you were following our Instagram stories, and I have to say it was nice staying in touch with Ottawa while we were in Toronto. Hopefully we made you proud, and you were able to enjoy it as much as we did!
New Orleans Street Style
I went to New Orleans (NOLA) in June for exactly 36 hours with a good friend.
We spent 3 whirl-winding days of walking, shopping, boozing on the street, eating and sweating of the excess pounds from the heat and humidity. I was pooped, let me tell you. I barely had any energy left over for Jazz club hopping on Frenchmen street. It’s hard to travel fast. You want to see everything, go everywhere and do it all!
We visited some vintage boutiques like The Revival Outpost where I got my new glasses and Boho Kimono, the famous Bourbon French Perfume perfumery where I purchased a soft musk that smells fabulously clean.
But can I say something, NOLA is Street Style heaven! The streets are beautiful and the architecture has so much history, it’s almost palpable. That was my favourite part, well that and eating of course.
Here are some pics of the trip.
As far as street style was concerned, it was quite disappointing. The retailers in the boutiques had a cute boho look to them, because they must dress for the heat! But overall, it was not an exceptionally fashion driven community. If only they realized the opportunities! Here are some fun shots we took.
