Fashion Truck Canada

Sometimes, I think I have a sixth sense when it comes to fashion. It calls me. “Hey Chantsy, something about that looks interesting… go see what it’s all about”. Every time I listen to that little voice, it guides me to beautiful things. This voice comes in handy when you are vintage or consignment shopping, antiquing and digging through the racks at Winners. I always anticipate my heart palpitations when I discover… “The find!!” It’s important to note that I also use this voice when I travel… it makes for stumbling upon amazing adventures!

Ok, back to Fashion Truck Canada (seen above). OMG! yes!!! Let me repeat that for you. This is a Fashion boutique, on a Truck, at a festival! Complete with a fitting room and cash! Again, let me repeat that, fashion comes to YOU. I had the pleasure of meeting and talking to the owner, Ashley Barber, who was gracious enough to talk to me about the truck and her Toronto-based business. She curates a lovely collection of women’s clothing that is suited for most body types, trendy styles, comfortable materials and most importantly, fair prices. She carries brands in likes of Free People, Quay, Seychelles and more. Her truck is famous for private shopping parties and events.

If you are going to RBC Bluesfest this week, visiting this truck is a must! It’s located on the North side of the Bell stage. You can’t get a better souvenir than this. Pick up a pair of sunnies, clutch or a gorgeous wide brim hat! Bonus- if you use your Master Card, they are offering a 10% discount!

Check out the rest of the pictures I took of this gem. Don’t forget to visit and follow their Insta, Facebook and Twitter! Oh, and don’t forget to use #ShoptheTruck!

Happy #FestivalFashion to all!

Transformation: Swap & Commit

I did it. I started the pile. I am committed to swapping out all my old, frumpy clothes, for smaller sizes that fit me and flatter me better now. I just can’t wear clothes that look big on me. I have earned the right to wear fitted clothes and to show off my new curves. I want to feel sexy again.

This past weekend, I ventured off to Tanger Outlets (Kanaka) and scored some major deals on: a new pair of white jeans, a new pair of jean shorts and a jean jacket. I had to get used to picking out smaller sizes for myself… Also, it’s nice not being disappointed in the change room.

“It fits!” She hollered from the fitting room.

It’s really difficult to let go, especially if you love your wardrobe and have taken so much time and effort to build it. Some are key basics, some pieces are from my travels. But really, it’s just clothes. I have to learn to let go of them.

It seems glamorous to have a fashion blog, but I purchase everything that you see on here. And trust me, it gets expensive! I wish I was at the point where people were throwing things at me in exchange for a little product review or a shout out.

I am no charity case, but I am writing this post to announce that I would like to sell my gently used favorites for an exceptional price. I’m talking $5 a piece kinda deals.

Keep an eye out on my Facebook album where I’ll be selling my stuff online. If you’re looking for clothes between sizes14 and 16, or XL, this might be a nice way to get some new pieces in your closet for a fraction of the price!

New Orleans Street Style

I went to New Orleans (NOLA) in June for exactly 36 hours with a good friend.

We spent 3 whirl-winding days of walking, shopping, boozing on the street, eating and sweating of the excess pounds from the heat and humidity. I was pooped, let me tell you. I barely had any energy left over for Jazz club hopping on Frenchmen street. It’s hard to travel fast. You want to see everything, go everywhere and do it all!

We visited some vintage boutiques like The Revival Outpost where I got my new glasses and Boho Kimono, the famous Bourbon French Perfume perfumery where I purchased a soft musk that smells fabulously clean.

musk Bourbon French PerfumeBut can I say something, NOLA is Street Style heaven! The streets are beautiful and the architecture has so much history, it’s almost palpable. That was my favourite part, well that and eating of course.

Here are some pics of the trip.

As far as street style was concerned, it was quite disappointing. The retailers in the boutiques had a cute boho look to them, because they must dress for the heat! But overall, it was not an exceptionally fashion driven community. If only they realized the opportunities! My 3 Fresh #FestivalFashion Looks

With the RBC Bluesfest creeping up, I thought I would put together three outfits that would best describe my Festival Fashion style.

I think we all have had our share of “trendy” accessory overload. In each styled outfit below, I proposed a light balance of classics paired with only a few focal points. You don’t want to look loud and overdone.

I don’t want to make this post too wordy, so please just enjoy the pics!

1- Light chambray dress, Love Bird floppy hat and Aldo platform mules.
