The generous folks of Mena, Ottawa’s premier French cuisine restaurant on Preston Street, invited me to a 5-course tasting of their new winter menu “Game Night”. There was nothing trivial about this meal. Every well-thought-out dish featured Canadian Wildlife delicacies paired with the most unique selection of wines. I am a huge fan of Sommelier Rob Nellis’s work. We seem to have a similar pallet when it comes to wine, so I always look forward to his recomendation. What I loved most about the pairing? The wines were mighty when consumed on their own, but never overpowering the taste of the meal. Now that’s a true partnership!
A few weeks ago, Katie (@YowCityStyle) and I were invited for a media stay at The Westin Harbour Castle, in downtown Toronto. We were treated to a relaxing 2-night stay at the hotel as well as a day at Body Blitz Spa, a therapeutic water bath spa. Now, I realize one doesn’t head to Toronto to relax necessarily, but I have to admit that this mini vacation was just what the doctor ordered. Katie and I had travelled to Toronto earlier this year and vowed that we would go back again… after all, there were too many shops and restaurants that we hadn’t crossed off our list!
Wellness shouldn’t be a word we just throw around and take for granted. It’s a guilt-free lifestyle that needs to be practiced consciously and be a part of every aspect of our daily living. Wellness has the ability to keep us calm, relaxed, productive, successful and healthy: mentally, emotionally and physically.
In this post, I’ll share 6 wellness tips I learned from Ford Canada on a road trip to Montebello.
Last Friday, Michael and I had the pleasure of staying at Elements Luxury Tented Camp, near Renfrew. This all-inclusive outdoor hotel is located about 1 hour and 15 minutes outside Ottawa and has been running for over two years now. It’s been on my bucket list for a while, and this year I decided to bite the bullet and book it for my (early) birthday. We stayed one night, but I would recommend splurging for the entire weekend. There are so many activities like yoga and paddleboarding that we did not have a chance to indulge in. We did eat though, A LOT!
