Are you tired of wearing the same old boring clothes that you have been wearing all winter? Me too! The mild weather we have been experiencing the last few days makes me feel like there is hope for heat. As we all know, Spring can be a tricky season to savour. As soon as the weather warms up, we all seem to ditch the parka and dive right into summer clothes. I know, it’s a Canadian thing. But this year, I am challenging myself (and you!) to carpe this moment and make this season last. For your amusement, I put this post together to help you easily transition your look from Winter to Spring, with only 3 simple tricks.
LLBD: Add a little more LEATHER to your Little Black Dress
Leather is hot. It was hot last year, and it’s still going strong this fall/winter. It’s the perfect way to add edge to a feminine outfit. I am so glad I invested when I had the chance, I think I have 4 skirts and 3 pairs of pants in some form of faux leather, but I want more. Here is the thing though… what about the LLBD- little leather black dress? I don’t have one of those! In fact, I think I’m obsessed and it may have something to do with this little number I saw on SmitheryStyle.com. It was infiltrating my dreams, I want one so bad!
Whether it’s this Westly Vegan Leather Dress or the ones I have picked out for you below, consider how much wear you will get out of it! Layer a cozy sweater or cardigan over it, wear a turtleneck or blouse underneath, the combination possibilities are endless. Have I convinced you yet, that this sexy thang is a must in your closet?!
Look no further for the ultimate little leather black dress- your secret weapon this season! Check out a few options I have picked out for you… yes, these come in an XL!

Festive Fashion: Black and Red Holiday Looks
In my post last week, I mentioned that I was featured in Ottawa Family Living magazine. As you know, print is always limited to space, unlike a blog, so my fashion outfits didn’t quite make the cut. I guess they wanted to keep the smart answers over the pretty pictures. That’s a win for any blonde girl! haha.
Just as I said in my article, my go-to this season, is Leather! Here are three easy looks that offer comfort, style and versatility!
Each look offers a different way to play up on leather:
- Leggings (similar in size L/XL)
- Moto Jacket (similar in size L/XL)
- Skirt (similar in size L/XL)
These are, once again, brought to you by the ever-talented Kristy Chapman Photography.
PR Event: New Rudsak store opens in Carrefour Laval in Montreal
I was very excited to be invited to the PR event held by Rudsak to launch their new store in Carrefour Laval in North Montreal on September 9, 2015. Rudsak is a Canadian brand of luxury leather goods, launched by creative visionary Evik Asatoorian in 1994.
I dragged my sister for the 2 hour car ride from Ottawa and spent a lovely 24 hrs in Montreal (more on that later!).
Rudsak partnered with Emily Haines of Metric. Emily customized four leather jackets that were raffled off at all new Rudsak store openings across Canada: Carrefour Laval (Montreal), St-Catherine store (Montreal), Eaton Centre (Toronto) and Market mall (Calgary). You can follow the campaign under #RockRudsak on Twitter and Instagram.
