Are you tired of wearing the same old boring clothes that you have been wearing all winter? Me too! The mild weather we have been experiencing the last few days makes me feel like there is hope for heat. As we all know, Spring can be a tricky season to savour. As soon as the weather warms up, we all seem to ditch the parka and dive right into summer clothes. I know, it’s a Canadian thing. But this year, I am challenging myself (and you!) to carpe this moment and make this season last. For your amusement, I put this post together to help you easily transition your look from Winter to Spring, with only 3 simple tricks.
My 3 tricks to transition your look from Winter to Spring
- Fun booties– I have loaded up on a variety of ankle booties this year, and I am excited to report that each and every one of them have brought joy and purpose to my style. Take these fun sparkle boots from L’Intervalle for example, they make any dull outfit pop, and are known to spark(le) a conversation or two.
- The long blazer– Any long blazer can be worn as a light coat, provided you layer something warm underneath it, like a turtleneck or cashmere sweater. This particular one is a boyfriend cut velvet blazer by Elvi, in an ombre silvery grey colour. I absolutely love it!
- Leather accents- I can’t stop advising you that leather/pleather will change your life. It has truly been a life savour for me. I have skirts, leggings, jacket, pants, and now a hat! Leather has the dual effect of warmth and shine, the perfect combo to looking great in a cooler climate.
I love this look for many reasons. It’s flattering for my body type (show off the legs!), it’s an easy go-to look and it’s really comfortable. I mean, don’t we all love the comfort of stretchy leggings and a long top to cover the rest? All you do is swap out the blazer for a kimono or duster and you have yourself another easy look… do I hear UNIFORM?! It’s always good to have a uniform ready to go, especially for those less creative days where you are feeling uninspired or rushed.
Do you have a uniform or tricks to transition your look from Winter to Spring? I’d love for you to share it with me!
