Every day, more than 800 women die from pregnancy or child-birth related complications in developing countries. In Canada, that number is closer to 10 per 100,000 births in one year. It’s not even comparable.
Although our healthcare system is not perfect, we need to step back and be grateful that we live in a country where we have access to clean hospital beds, state-of-the-art technology, competent healthcare workers and to top it all off, these health services are covered by our provincial insurance plan.
On March 3, I presented a TV segment on CTV Morning Live “Dress like a JUNOs star with Place D’Orleans” (scroll below for full video clip). I promised to showcase all the looks of each nominee on the blog and tell you where I got everything from, so here it is- Junos style with Place D’Orleans! SO grab your beverage of choice and a cozy spot on the couch and keep reading.
How excited are you for the 46th Annual Juno Awards happening in Ottawa on April 2, 2017? I know I am! Some of my favourite Canadian artists have been nominated this year; Drake, the Weeknd, and Justin Bieber… yes, don’t judge me. What I love about the Junos, is how accessible it is to everyone, literally you can buy your tickets to the Junos online and join the party! I am told to get there early and secure a spot on the red carpet to watch over 200 artists walking in!

Although the spot usually lasts between 4 to 7 minutes, it can take months to plan and loads of hours to coordinate the entire thing. Whether you’re presenting a fashion segment, as I typically do, or promoting a new product, or an upcoming event, the formula is pretty standard. Keeping your nerves calm, remembering your key messages, and nailing your set-up are just a few things to consider. Quite often, people seek my advice and ask me how to put together and present a tv segment. So for everyone’s benefit, I decided to share my tips on the most important things you need to do before you present a TV segment via a blog post!
Today, I’m sharing my favourite bell sleeve dress fashion trend for winter 2017. Whether it comes in a blouse, sweater, jumper or dress, I want it all! It seems to make everything more elegant, more flirty and more fun. Although impractical at the office, and sometimes a pain under your jacket, my heart still longs for bell sleeves and frills all day long.
