PinkSpiration at Place D’Orleans for the month of June

A few months ago, Place D’Orleans launched the Find your Colour campaign, to encourage shoppers to get out of their comfort zone and add a little colour to their style pallet this Spring and Summer. I was asked to be captain for #TeamPink and showcase a few fun looks inspired by the colour pink! Follow Place D’Orleans on their social channels  throughout the month of June to see more PinkSpiration!

Here are the two looks that I put together.

Look 1- Summer uniform

  • If you’re afraid of colour, try it on one item only, like this tank top from Reitmans. Pink is super flattering on different skin tones and looks super polished.
  • White jeans provide a perfect neutral pallet for the summer and can be worn with colour easily. Cut the bottoms off for a cropped frayed look, if you’re up for it.
  • I’m also tipping  my hat to the 80’s with this oversized jean jacket (buy it a few sizes too big, for an edgy vintage feel).
  • If you really want to draw people in with colour, but not ready to commit to colour in your clothes, make sure you invest in colourful accessories like shoes, purses and jewellery. These block heel strappy sandals from Call it Spring complete the look perfectly.

I’ll be abusing this look all summer long, and you should too!

Look 2- Athleisure

Nothing feels and looks more awesome than a well balanced athleisure look: a bit of sports and a sprinkle of sass. This look is super comfortable and will motivate you to move this summer.

  • If you want to add colour to your look, patterns are a great way to start. My heart swoons over this floral bomber jacket from Hudson’s Bay.
  • A fun pair of colourful sneakers will take you a long way this summer, and will keep you stylish the entire time. Find the right tones of colour that suit you best, and stick to it. You’ll notice these Nike sneakers from Hudson’s Bay are a play on pink and go well with the bomber.
  • Black is the neutral palette in this look. Cropped leggings are a must in any workout wardrobe, and will go with almost any top. I love these Nike leggings from Hudson’s Bay, they are supportive, stretchy and breathable.
  • Have fun with your tops, and add more colour to your look. This neutral pale pink T-shirt from Hudson’s Bay is super soft and versatile.
  • Go crazy with colourful accessories, like these reflective aviators from Hudson’s Bay.

Also- Congrats to #TEAMPINK for winning the COLOUR RACE!!!

Almost Famous: What I wore to the JUNOs from Place D’Orleans

The 2017 Juno Awards came to a close a few weeks ago, and I am still feeling the buzz. I couldn’t be happier to take part in the action and I am so blessed to have partnered with Place D’Orleans for the entire campaign.

On March 3rd, I presented a fashion TV segment “Dress like a JUNOs star with Place D’Orleans” on CTV Morning Live and that day, launched a contest on my Instagram account to win 2 tickets to the Junos, two $100 gift cards to Place D’Orleans and two VIP gift cards at Hai Republic for the lucky winners!

Dress like a JUNOs Star with Place D’Orleans + Giveaway

On March 3, I presented a TV segment on CTV Morning Live “Dress like a JUNOs star with Place D’Orleans” (scroll below for full video clip). I promised to showcase all the looks of each nominee on the blog and tell you where I got everything from, so here it is- Junos style with Place D’Orleans! Disclaimer, this is a LONG post, but worth the read. I have detailed shots of all the looks, an amazing contest and much more. SO grab your beverage of choice and a cozy spot on the couch and keep reading.

How excited are you for the 46th Annual Juno Awards happening in Ottawa on April 2, 2017? I know I am! Some of my favourite Canadian artists have been nominated this year; Drake, the Weeknd, and Justin Bieber… yes, don’t judge me. What I love about the Junos, is how accessible it is to everyone, literally you can buy your tickets to the Junos online and join the party! I am told to get there early and secure a spot on the red carpet to watch over 200 artists walking in!

#PDOBlackFriday: How to shop Black Friday sales at Place D’Orleans

I’m just coming down from the thrills of hosting my first ever Facebook Live event, I’ve done lots on my own page, but nothing of this scale. We had a few technical glitches, but tonight we filmed a segment for Place D’Orleans‘ Black Friday deals and it was a blast! I was joined by two Ottawa bloggers, Ashley and Coralie who also presented some of their favourite steals that were under $50 at Place D’Orleans!

PS- the secret password tomorrow at Guest Services is “PDOBlackFriday”. If you’re one of the first 10 people to arrive, you can get a $50 gift card!

For once in my life, I focused on gifts that I could get my husband, instead of things that I like for myself (selfish much? Not today!). Some of the deals are insane, like these leather Aldo loafers for $35, or this men’s shaving and skincare kit from The Body Shop for $33. These polkadot men’s socks from MoxyMaus were also a perfect complement to the loafers!

I found this red waffle shirt and fun pjs bottoms from Eddie Bauer. This is basically my husbands bedtime uniform, I can’t believe they had it in stock!

Although this gorgeous blanket from the Bay is not under $50, I promise you the candle and books are! Bath and Body Works has a “buy 3 get 3 free” promo tomorrow on their scented candles. I am partial to fresh Christmas scents like Balsam Fir or masculine ones like Amber Mahogany ( you may also hear me referring to this scent as handsome man! haha). In addition, Wayne Gretzky’s “Story of the Game” and Mike Myers’ “Canada” books are only $15 each at Coles! Again, these books are right up my husbands alley- he loves all things Canadiana.

He may not need a coat, but this $50 winter jacket by Mountain Warehouse is just too good to pass up. You can’t buy a winter coat for under $50, it’s just unheard of. If you donate to the snowsuit fund, this shop would be a perfect place to stock up on good quality suits for a great price.

What I wore

The outfit I wore tonight was all purchased at H&M! I love the H&M inside Place D’Orleans, it’s got a great selection and it’s huge too! Tomorrow H&M has crazy deals (like $7 for the pants I’m wearing) and their main focus will be featuring all black fashion for Black Friday!

Other favourite shops at Place D’Orleans

I mean, there are a million stores I could name, but some of my favourite shops include The Bay, Forever 21 RED, Le Chateau, Reitmans, Dynamite, Soft Moc, Footlocker, Watch it, Sunglass Hut, and Mrs. Tiggy Winkle’s for my son Victor!

In case you missed it, you can watch the entire Facebook Live video here!

A big thank you to Place D’Orleans, for supporting this post! It’s been awesome to work with you!
