Benefit Cosmetics product review | Best mascara and eyebrow makeup for natural brows

I know I am not alone, but I may have a slight obsession with my eyebrows. Although my habits have changed drastically over the years (goodbye thin overplucked brows, hello bush!) I am still very much committed to my brow regime. As far as eyebrow makeup is concerned, you have to be living under a rock to not have heard of Benefit Cosmetics. Apparently, I recently came out of this rock when I had the chance to test out a few products that were sent to me from Benefit. In this comprehensive Benefit Cosmetics product review, I will be sharing what I love most about all the different eyebrow makeup and how to embrace the natural bushy brow look.

I realize this is a brow post, but Benefit just released “Bad Gal Bang” mascara and I knew I had to try it. The verdict… I am obsessed and in love. This long and thin silicone brush is perfect to comb through each individual lash, and the formula gives my naturally long lashes a gorgeous curl and hold. I can’t say enough about it, it’s exactly what I am looking for in a mascara.

Benefit Cosmetics – Precisely, My Brow Pencil • Benefit Cosmetics • $30.96

A cult fave, the Precisely my brow pencil and spooly brush is excellent for a more controlled and defined look. The thin brush strokes allow you to draw and mimic fine hairs. I love tracing and filling the bottom part of my brows too if I am going for a more bold look. I use the spooly to brush out the access and to blend it all together. This pencil is perfect for on-the-go and a must in your travel makeup kit.

Benefit Cosmetics – Brow Zings Tame & Shape Kit • Benefit Cosmetics • $41.28

If you like more well-defined brows or have shapeless brows, this gel-powder duo is exactly what you need. Use the gel and angled brush to draw the brow, then use the round brush and powder to fill in the blank areas and set the gel. Clean up the brows with the tweezers and you have yourself a beautiful brow!

Benefit Cosmetics – KA-BROW! Cream-Gel Eyebrow Colour with Brush • Benefit Cosmetics • $15.48–30.96

This is the product I fell in love with from the entire kit that was sent to me. It’s for patchy brows (that’s what I have!). After letting my over-tweezed brows grow in over the last 9 years, I noticed that I have a few bald patches. The Ka-Brow is perfect to fill in those gaps because it has enough pigment and matches the shade of my brows perfectly without darkening them too much. I also love how the lid turns into the brush… very clever guys!

Benefit Cosmetics – Goof Proof Brow Pencil Easy Shape & Fill • Benefit Cosmetics • $15.48–30.96

This pencil is extremely easy to use and fills the brows very effectively in no-time! The ticker pencil with a triangular tip gives you both the control and coverage you need. And the spooly on the other end helps to blend it all out for a natural finish. This pencil is really the secret weapon to naturally filled in brows. It’s also a great tool for beginners!

Benefit Cosmetics – High Brow Glow Luminous Highlight & Lift Pencil • Benefit Cosmetics • $28.38

This creamy eyebrow highlighter pencil helps to accentuate and lift the arches of your brows and gives a clean and crisp finish to your look. Draw it on lightly under the brow and blend. Bonus- add some in the inner corner of your eyes to make them pop even more!

Benefit Cosmetics – 24-HR Brow Setter Shaping & Setting Gel • Benefit Cosmetics • $30.96

Now, why would you go through all this work and not set your look for the entire day? I love using the 24-hr Brow setter to lock in my hard work. For an extremely natural look, I use it alone and simply brush my brows in the shape that I want! I highly recommend this product, I can’t go without it.

How to embrace the natural 80’s bushy brow look

  1. Don’t pluck your brows often (actually, almost never do it… only clean up the obvious stray hairs)
  2. Don’t trim them, let them grow long and crazy
  3. Brush the hairs in an upwards motion, especially after a shower or washing your face (it trains the hair to grow in that direction)
  4. Use brow setter, it helps to brush them in the right place and fixes them that way
  5. Always use a spooly to blend out any product (gel, pencil, powder or cream)

There is so much more to eyebrows than I had time to cover in this post. So make sure you check Benefit Cosmetics’ brow mapping technics and other awesome tips on how to achieve the brows of your dreams!
