For my trip to Toronto a few weeks ago, I headed over to Merivale Vision Care to pull some sunglasses to help me style some looks. Merivale Vision Care, also known as EyeSeeYow on Instagram, is Ottawa’s premier destination for unique and stylish designer sunglasses and eyewear in the city. The staff is super friendly and the inventory is out of this world!

What to wear to the affair: Paradise City Boobyball Ottawa 2016
Come celebrate the 15th annual Boobyball fundraiser, hosted by Rethink Breast Cancer. This year’s theme is Paradise City! Think lemurs, tigers and flamingos… oh my!
Rethink breast cancer is the first ever Canadian charity to bring bold, relevant awareness to the 40s and under crowd; foster a new generation of young and influential breast cancer supporters; infuse sass and style into the cause; and, most importantly, respond to the unique needs of young women going through it.
Last year, I attended the first Boobyball event in Ottawa, and had a blast! This year, I was asked to support this amazing cause, and of course, I had a hard time saying no! How could I? So much effort goes into the theme, the fashion and the experience. If you’re already convinced, the you can simply…

What to wear to the affair?
I know this is what makes or breaks the ticket purchase. “I have nothing to wear, so I am not going!” she says. Wrong! Let me help you with that.
I found some pretty awesome inspirational pieces from l’Intervalle, HM and Zara. All which can now be found at CF Rideau Centre! One stop shop my friends, one stop shop.
I never like to reveal what I will be wearing, but as you know, I like to inspire. Maybe you already have a few key pieces you can put together at home? There is no need to spend big money, leave that money to the cause.
The pieces I chose are bright, colourful, floral, busy and loaded with pattern and some animal print of course. Have fun with your designer costume and remember to bring your A-Game!
Can’t wait to see what everyone will be wearing! Now, I need to start working on my outfit… BRB.
#Aboutlastnight: Recap and Photos from Diner en Blanc Ottawa 2016
Wow, last night was a thrilling magical dream! So many unknowns, so many secrets, so many nerves… for a person who is always in control, this is very difficult!
I have to say that we were extremely lucky and honoured to sit at Metro Ontario’s table at Ottawa’s first Diner en Blanc . We were the fortunate ones that did not have to prepare our meal or set up our tables!
We got dressed up, all in white, and I securely mounted my DIY flower hat (yep! I am pretty good with a glue gun! haha). We had a car pick us up at home and drop us off at Metro in Westboro. From there we got onto our bus and we were off to our secret destination… City Hall!
When we got there, I was a bit disappointed, hoping for a more remote location, but as the night was moving along, it truly was the perfect location. The 360-degree views, signature Ottawa sunset, and warm summer weather was hard to beat.
We had a gourmet picnic dinner, all provided and prepared by Metro. I caught up with some friends, including Jessica Mulroney, whom I met at the Metro dinner a few months back. She was lovely as ever and seemed impressed with the entire event. We snapped a few pics and caught up with some friends.
At 7:00 p.m. we waved our white napkins in the air to signal the start of the evening. At 9:00 p.m. we lit up the skies with sparklers and soak in the magical moment. We danced the night away until 11:00 and went home to our cozy and cool beds.
Here are some pics of the entire night. Maybe these are good enough to encourage you to sign up next year if you were one of the sceptics watching the evening through social media at home!
See you next year!
