A few weeks ago, I switched up my skincare routine to test out a new Korean skincare line. Belif uses an old apothecary approach for all its products and promises a clean and natural experience. Each container displays a guarantee that products do not contain artificial dies, fragrances, preservatives, mineral oils, or animal byproducts (vegan). The products are also free of parabens, sulfates and phthalates, preservatives known to be bad for the environment and linked to cancer.
Nothing excites me more than testing face cream and moisturizers this time of the year, because my skin is so dry from fluctuating temperatures. I have had a chance to dabble in all the products that were sent my way, and hope to share an honest review to help you with your quest for a new natural skin care routine.
Finally, a skin care routine tailored for me. I have been using the new Idealia skincare by Vichy line for a week now, and it’s too amazing not to share. Sometimes I feel ridiculous using age defying products, maybe it’s because I am blessed with healthy skin, or maybe because I am in denial of my age (33 isn’t old, is it?). Regardless, I don’t want to use old lady cream just yet. I appreciate that most lines have a “protect skin now, enjoy it later” attitude, but it makes me feel old to think that wrinkles are in my not-so-distant future.
This time of the year calls for the “Dryfecta”. It’s a brutal combination of the cold weather, the dry air from indoor heating and if you’re fortunate enough, post-vacation suntanned skin. That’s what I have right now. I just came back from my trip to Hawaii and I am in dire need of Vichy’s moisture cocoon routine to nurture and hydrate my dry skin back to good vibrant health. With a combination of drinking loads of water (using a fun bottle of course!), blasting a humidifier in every room, and hitting “loop” on my Vichy routine… I think I got this!
I received Biotherm Blue Therapy cream-in-oil face moisturizer a few months ago and have been using it sporadically, between the other products that I am testing. I need time to play with products before I can really review them. I know you would expect nothing less from this biochemistry student!
First, I didn’t realize that this was such a luxurious creme, only because I assumed I wasn’t fancy enough to receive it for free! Lesson learned – stop assuming! It retails at $79.
