Luckily, I remembered that I hadn’t cashed in my media stay with the newly renovated Ottawa Embassy Hotel & Suites, just steps away from Ottawa City Hall. When we got the hotel tour, I recall noting that the suites had a convenient kitchenette, spacious living area and closed off bedrooms. I knew it was the perfect setting to host my family- my mom, my sister, my niece and my nephew. We needed a lot of beds and we got them!
Other than the convenience of the sleeping arrangements of the suite, we loved being so close to City Hall and the canal. During the day, we took the kids out for a skate at the Sens rink of dreams, went for a walk downtown and even made our way to Rideau Centre.
Even though Elgin Street is under construction, we were able to walk to nearby restaurants very easily. We also took
For meals, we had lunch in our room and had dinner on Elgin Street at Jonny Farinas and Clocktower pub. We opted to have breakfast at Coopers Gastropub, the new restaurant located inside the Embassy H

Don’t forget to support the businesses on Elgin Street during construction! Despite the closed off roads, it’s very walkable, so leave the car at home.
